Our goal is to "provide a purposeful and nurturing learning environment, accessible to the entire community."
A group of volunteers manages the registered charity Oldfield Park Pre-School. Every year in October, we have an Annual General Meeting for our neighbourhood. We welcome all parents and caregivers to attend and get to know the staff members that manage our pre-school. We are registered with the local government (BANES), which provides the majority of our funding through the Early Years Entitlement, as well as with Ofsted. Our fantastic staff team plans and offers a wide variety of fun activities for the kids. 'Outdoor Adventures,' our on-site forest school, cooking, painting, play dough, singing, and playing with our indoor and outdoor toys are a few of the usual activities. They also organise a wide range of special occasions, including sports days, nativity plays, field trips, and seminars.
Before moving to Oldfield Park Infants School in September 2019, we were housed at the Baptist Church on Moorland Road. For more than 35 years, a playgroup and then a preschool offered early care and instruction to children ages 3-5 and later 2 years old. The pre-school industry has evolved since then, as have the laws governing it, but the requirement is still in place.
Our pre-school received a satisfactory rating in the most recent Ofsted inspection (in September 2018).
