From the Mini Meadows
Mini Meadows Farm, which started as a modest enterprise selling rare breed hens, was merely an empty field in 2008.
For owner Ben Barraclough, it soon became an exciting journey to transform that field into his vision of an affordable farm experience for everyone; the Mini Meadows Farm you know and love today.
Mini Meadows Farm is committed to provide ethical, educational, captivating, and enjoyable farm experiences that are affordable for both children and adults.
Mini Meadows Farm, which was only a field in 2008, has expanded thanks to the assistance and support of our guests into a place where everyone is welcome every day of the year and new experiences are enjoyed.
Caring for the environment is very important to us at Mini Meadows Farm, which is why as part of the farms development we planted 500 trees, including Oaks and Scots Pines, in small drifts to encourage wildlife.
We don't use chemicals or fertilisers on any part of the farm, and all of our barns are heated and have hot water provided by ecologically friendly air source heat pumps.
We strongly believe that Mini Meadows Farm is our visitors farm.
Everything we do is for the benefit of the animals and tourists, and the neighbourhood has a significant impact on that.
Mini Meadows Farm has great links with several local schools for the disabled and children with special needs, such as autism, who visit weekly.
At Mini Meadows Farm, we live local and work local.
With funding for our Events barn, a new overflow parking lot, tarmacing the current parking lot, installing a mains sewage system, and building walkways throughout the farm, the EAFRD has supported the growth of Mini Meadows Farm.
