From the Mary Platt Methodist Pre-School
We are pleased to state that Mary Platt Pre-school is among the longest continuously operating pre-schools in Cumbria. It was founded in 1963. We are Pre-school Learning Alliance members and registered with Ofsted.
We provide sessional care, accept children as young as two, and provide the nursery entitlement for children three and older, which starts the term after their third birthday. We also provide qualified two-year-olds with the nursery entitlement.
We offer a secure, loving, and friendly atmosphere with staff-to-child ratios of at least one adult to eight children for children aged three and four and one adult to four children for children aged two. This enables us to offer the level of care and security to which every kid is entitled.
A group of Trustees chosen by Ofsted oversees our operations and meets once a month to manage us. The Mary Platt Methodist Preschool's governance was transformed from a charity to a charitable incorporated organisation in September 2018 in order to keep up with the trends (CIO). Everything at the preschool has remained the same as a result, including our Good rating with Ofsted. As a result, we now have a new charity identification number (Registered Charity No. 117880) and, consequently, a new Ofsted registration number (2519649).
On the Ofsted website, our old Ofsted number, 317557, is now displayed as closed. When Ofsted conducts their subsequent inspection, this number will be changed to reflect our GOOD status. Please feel free to contact Ofsted to verify this information.
