From the Little Sprouts
Children in our Buttons room range in age from two years old and up. They come from the Bean Sprouts room when we determine that they are ready based on feedback from their key person who monitors their growth. The child's pace will be used to make transitions gently. Check out our Transition Policy. There are several spaces for the kids to play in the room, including a construction zone where they can use various building blocks and tracks, a creative table where they can use paint, playdough, shaving foam, or gloop, and more, a quiet area with mats, cushions, and books where they can relax and read on their own or with an adult, and a home corner where they can play pretend games. We make sure that the kids spend lots of time exploring our enclosed garden because we recognise how important outdoor learning is for a child's growth. We are also fortunate to have the park, which is adjacent to the village hall, where we can play lots of running and ball sports. The children also get to choose a piece of fruit from our daily selection as we enjoy our snacks while seated together with our friends and independently spreading butter and jam on our crackers. Following the EYFS curriculum, activities and experiences are provided that are centred on the children's likes and interests. These are then incorporated into the children's play to help them achieve their unique early learning goals.
