By encouraging kids to play and by offering a well-resourced play space both inside and outside, we pride ourselves on our play-based approach to kids learning.
Each child's development is tracked along the way using an online programme that is regularly updated and available for parents and caregivers to watch as well as add to themselves. Care and education are centred around each individual child.
As your child continues their journey throughout the nursery we gradually support them to become confident, independent learners, ready for the next stage of their education.
We are happy to announce that Ofsted rated our facility as a Good setting.
Here is the most recent report (September 2017) https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/16/EY369169. Each kid at Letterbox will have a unique learning experience planned for them using a variety of engaging activities that have been thoughtfully chosen based on their interests.
Through the use of written observations, pictures, audio clips, progress trackers, and reports, we are able to record every aspect of your child's learning thanks to an online system. Everything is carried out in accordance with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and is aided by COETL (Characteristics of Effective Teaching and Learning).
A named professional known as a "Key Person" is in charge of making sure your child feels safe and secure.
Your childs Key Person will track your child's developmental progress and plan for their individual needs.
A settling session is a time when your childs key person gets to know your child, you and your family.
The Key Person will ask you about your childs routines at home and any interests, comforters etc all vital pieces of information to get to know your child as well as they can.
With you, we go over an induction checklist that we have.
The Key Person will plan these orientation sessions.
We provide unrestricted access to the outdoor space.
We now have a mud patch and digging area, which we hope to enhance in the upcoming term.
A sizable climbing structure with a tunnel, slide, and fireman's pole is fully installed in the main garden area.
We offer some study balancing tools that are age- and ability-appropriate for all kids.
We are proud of the mud kitchen we provide the children, this is very popular and therefore it means that your childs clothing may occasionally become a little dirty when playing in this area.
To provide the kids a change of pace in their play, we also offer a variety of water and sand activities.
