My wife Julie and I have two boys who attend Kirkoswald C of E school, and I was a former student there.
Being a parent I am keen to be involved with the school and realise the importance of their education.
I began working at Kirkoswald CE School in 1998 as a part-time Year Two teacher before switching to full-time employment with the Year Five/Six class.
I returned to the school to fill the position of headmaster following a secondment as a National Numeracy Consultant for the Local Authority.
I have now served as the school's headteacher for twelve years.
I am a parent governor.
As a parent and former student myself, I wanted to be involved in school life for Annabelle and Seth, who are the fourth generation of the Parker family to attend Kirkoswald C of E School.
I am the Kirkoswald CE School governor at the moment.
I currently travel frequently abroad because of my job as a marine surveyor in the oil sector.
As a former student of Kirkoswald CofE School, I was thrilled to be invited to join the governing board as a Foundation Governor in 2015 when my family and I relocated back to the community.
At a secondary school in Carlisle, I am the Head of Year and a Science Teacher.
It gives me great joy to watch my two children, who are both students at Kirkoswald School, develop in such a caring environment that places the school and its commitment to excellence in education at its core.
I relocated here in 2010 after marrying into a farming family here, and as of September 2018, I am a governor at Kirkoswald School.
Since graduating from Newcastle University in 2005, I have been actively involved in the local farming community and have my own insurance company at NFU Mutual in Appleby.
Being a member of Kirkoswald's governing body is fun for me.
Since September 2018, I have served as the parish priest for Kirkoswald, Lazonby, Great Salkeld, Renwick, and Croglin.
I lead the community for the joint mission as well.
Being a foundation governor of Kirkoswald School makes me extremely happy, and I love going to the school on a regular basis.
The sense of community the school fosters and the way the kids look out for one another never fail to impress me.
I am always looking to develop stronger links between the church and the school.
As a church, we are looking for fresh ways to help the neighbourhood.
I now have grandchildren in addition to my three adult children.
I joined as a Co-opted governor in 2020 and am delighted to help and support Kirkoswaldd school, who have been such an amazing part of our three children's lives.
I work part time as a HR Consultant and I'm also a Non-Executive Director on the board of a not-for-profit company that provides day to day support to people with learning difficulties.
Having moved to Cumbria with my family, we love being part of Kirkoswald's village community.
I am a first-grade teacher at Kirkoswald School.
