The period of your child's life from birth to age five is known as the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) by the government and early childhood specialists. This is a crucial time since it gets your child ready for school and gets them set up for future learning and success. From the time of birth to the age of five, your child's early years should be joyful, active, thrilling, safe, and supportive of their growth, care, and learning needs.
A legislative document called the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework must be followed by nurseries, pre-schools, school reception classrooms, and childminders registered to provide the EYFS.
The EYFS Framework was created with the collaboration of many early years professionals and parents to support all professionals working in the early years to benefit your child. The framework was updated in 2012 with a stronger emphasis on the issues that matter most, making it clearer and simpler to use. Additionally, this new framework places more attention on how you can support your child's development.
Your child's learning and activities are planned using these seven categories. The instructors and caregivers for your child will make sure that the activities are appropriate for his or her particular needs. This curriculum is somewhat akin to that of primary and secondary schools, but it is appropriate for very young children and is made to be extremely flexible so that teachers may cater to the individual requirements and interests of each student. Children learn through the EYFS through engaging in play, exploration, physical activity, and both indoor and outdoor critical and creative thinking.
