The basic British principles of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and respect for people of all religions and beliefs must be promoted in all schools, according to the DfE, which has lately reaffirmed the need for doing so.
Following a vote, a representative from each year group for the school council is chosen by each class.
Respect is one of the Christian values that are central to our school's ethos, and students have participated in discussions and assemblies about what this value entails and how it should be demonstrated.
We have fewer minority groups represented than is typical, but we are fully aware of the necessity for our children to grow up understanding and embracing the various cultures that make up the United Kingdom.
Our students' knowledge and awareness of many faiths and beliefs are improved by inviting representatives of these groups to the school.
