Since its founding in 1997, First Steps has been owned by a mother-daughter team consisting of Jean Martin and Sonia Anderson.
Since 1997, the original Nursery at Newmarket Street has been providing child care.
We made the decision to open a second nursery in Skipton at Broughton Road in 2008 because to the overwhelming demand for spaces at Newmarket Street.
We constantly work to introduce fresh, fascinating content to the nurseries.
2011 saw a lot of new ideas such as the stay and play sessions, where you can leave your baby with us for a couple of hours to enable you to have some time to get those little jobs done.
Additionally, we started having monthly event days, which the kids loved very much.
Being a family-run business has the advantage of allowing us to be as flexible as possible and understanding what parents really need from the Nursery.
The Pay for What You Use service has now been launched.
The days that your child is at our childcare are billed to you.
When your child is absent due to illness or you are on vacation, you are not billed.
