Ed has 20 years of experience managing and expanding businesses in a variety of industries, with a current emphasis on education.
He served as CEO Europe for Cognita Schools, a renowned international group of independent campuses, before joining First Class Learning in June 2016. His portfolio included 66 schools in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Ed focused on raising educational standards and encouraging each child to go above and beyond expectations while overseeing the education of almost 20,000 students in 47 schools across the UK and Spain while working for Cognita.
Ed worked across a variety of industries in both the UK and foreign markets for the first six years of his career while working for Bain & Company, a renowned worldwide consulting business.
Born and educated in Aberdeen and a graduate of Business Studies at The Robert Gordon University, David is our Financial Controller with over 20 years' experience in finance roles.
After earning her BA (Hons) from Exeter University and completing a PGCE in English, Media, and Drama, Stacey has worked exclusively in the field of education.
Stacey is also a First Class Learning Centre Manager and co-owns three centres in West London.
Over the past 15 years, Simons entrepreneurial instincts led him to developing innovative products to assist children with specific learning objectives in mathematics.
He has applied these in his own after-school tuition centres and he currently works with around 140 students of all ages, including small groups in a local primary school.
Simon created the hugely well-liked 3-minute maths software and website because to his significant expertise teaching mathematics and his creative use of pedagogical strategies.
Simon leads a team of qualified maths teachers and practitioners in constantly updating and improving the First Class Learning maths programme, as well as developing new modules in line with the changing curriculum.
During a career in the telecommunications industry, David taught key skills in maths and English and ran a training organisation responsible for conducting BTEC examinations in telecommunications.
Following a brief stint working on East African famine relief initiatives, David ran a successful teacher preparation programme, taught psychology, and served as a mentor for kids with special learning challenges.
He also managed three prosperous tutoring facilities in the North East.
David is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Training and Development and a graduate of the University of Durham.
Pat helped to conceive, develop, and implement the FCL English Program as a co-founder of First Class Learning.
She understands the value of solid grammar and vocabulary knowledge in understanding language and applying it effectively and creatively because she has a degree in modern languages.
She earned her degree and became certified to teach English as a foreign language.
Pat has worked for many years as a tutor of English and other languages, as well as gaining extensive experience supporting literacy in mainstream education.
Chris is a co-founder of First Class Learning and helped design, develop and implement the FCL Maths Programme.
Celia Stone is a specialist Teacher of Children with Dyslexia with over 35 years of experience.
