Downham Preparatory School & Montessori Nursery

There is a growing need for seats at the school, thus a search for a larger land was started.
Downham Preparatory School and Montessori Nursery eventually took over the building.
The requirement for more space was brought on by the huge growth in student enrollment.
A newly constructed school with specific goals was inaugurated in the Old Rectory's grounds in January 2005.
The school received the designation of Healthy School in 2012.
The school requested authorization from the Department for Education in 2018 to change its registration and raise the maximum age from 11 years (Year 6) to 13 years (Year 8).
Elizabeth Truss, MP, inaugurated a brand-new, specifically designed science building in September 2018 to give teachers the resources they need to deliver the Key Stage 3 curriculum.
The Baby Room, which is open to children as young as three months old and has free access to the outdoor area, was established in September 2012 when the Nursery moved into newly renovated quarters on the ground floor of the Rectory.
This offers year-round access to the outside and is furnished with materials for all EYFS subject areas.
In the neighbouring village of Downham Market, we inaugurated a new nursery in September 2009.
Children who are staying with us for their primary schooling can use the nursery at Stow Bardolph.
Children who will be continuing their education at any of the other nearby Primary schools are eligible for the new nursery in Downham Market.
Both schools use the same teaching strategies and Early Years curriculum.
Both nurseries include staff members with extensive expertise dealing with kids.
