Dog Kennel Hill Adventure Playground

DKHAP has been operating for 50 years and collaborates with a network of long-standing statutory and nonprofit partners as well as local residents, including parents and caregivers, past clients, and proprietors of nearby companies.
DKHAP is a secure green space in the middle of an urban neighbourhood where kids and teenagers can play, learn, and acquire life skills.
It offers free, supervised, open-access adventure play and exercise sessions every weekday after school from 3-6pm and during school breaks from 9-5pm to all kids aged 5 to 15.
The playground, which is part of Metropolitan Open Land, is a verdant haven with spectacular climbing walls, elevated wooden bridges, tree homes, swings, a zip line, a sandbox, areas for football and other activities, and an outdoor gym.
Through our programmes, we give kids and teenagers new possibilities, skill development, the chance to connect with others of similar ages and backgrounds, community building, and improved physical and mental health.
DKHAP is situated between three sizable housing estates where many residents are on low incomes and few have gardens or access to outdoor space; it is also surrounded by areas of affluence. It is located in Champion Hill ward in the London Borough of Southwark where 44% of residents are from black and minority ethnic communities.
