Central Out of School Club

Communication: Managers have systems in place to gather information from parents about children's individual needs before they start at the club.

Programs and Resources: For children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, managers understand the importance of working in partnership with parents and other professionals to provide children with any extra support they may need.

Staff Training: Managers support staff to access frequent training and professional development opportunities. This helps them to understand their role and responsibilities, with particular regard to keeping children safe.

Welcoming and Professional Staff: Children are supported to form settled relationships with staff and other children. They enjoy playing together.

Safeguarding Training: Staff access regular training to keep their knowledge of safeguarding issues up to date. They are alert to signs that could indicate a child is at risk of harm.

Play and Learning Integration: Children are supported to form settled relationships with staff and other children. They enjoy playing together outdoors where they practise their physical skills.

Transition to Primary School: Children are generally happy and settled in the club. Most children demonstrate high levels of confidence.

Child Safety Management: Staff understand how to report their concerns to managers or other agencies to keep children safe.

Children's Safety and Security: Most children demonstrate high levels of confidence in doing this, showing that they feel secure. Those who are shyer receive encouragement from staff.

Nutritional Menu: Staff support children to develop some healthy habits. Children regularly wash their hands before snack and mealtimes. They make choices from their lunch boxes about what they would like to eat.
