Carolina and her family moved to the UK and settled in the Richmond region after spending seven years in Washington, DC, where she worked for an international organisation (IDB-Inter-American Development Bank as Budget Coordinator for Social Projects in Central America). Carolina decided it was time to consider a different career after delivering her first child. In East Sheen, she founded a Spanish playgroup called Musiquillos, which teaches Spanish to infants and toddlers through music. She had been persuaded by this novel experience that she decided to pursue teaching infants Spanish professionally. Carolina was already aware with and enthusiastic about the Montessori philosophy. Carolina earned her degree from Montessori Centre International (MCI) and gained a tonne of useful experience working in several nurseries in the East Sheen, Richmond, Barnes, and Putney areas. Carolina kept teaching Spanish to kids while devising lessons that were influenced by the Montessori way of thinking. For more than a year, she taught more than 20 kids between the ages of 4 and 5 in Putney. Carolina held regular Spanish holiday camps at her house while working as a full-time Montessori instructor. Carolina decided it was time to open her own nursery where kids would be exposed to and encouraged to speak a second language in a natural and nurturing Montessori environment after all these wonderful experiences and having young children who speak three languages — English, Spanish, and French (she is married to a French national) — three languages that she is fluent in. She started Casa Montessori in 2016 and has since experienced ongoing success, met content families, and seen children make growth, all of which serve as daily reminders that she made the right choice.
