Our educational philosophy is built on the idea that children learn best when they explore, discover, and do so while having fun.
By providing both indoor and outdoor learning opportunities through our specially designed garden and Story Hut, we are able to create an environment where kids feel confident and prepared to learn.
The first Bumblebees Day Nursery was launched in September 2006 by Gemma, Jamie, and Ian Whittington.
The main room serves as a sizable play space for the caterpillars, where we promote learning via interaction with others.
For the Caterpillars' use, we have also created a unique under-twos garden where they may safely explore and learn about the outdoors.
The Bees' main room features a sizable play space, while a side room is set aside for dirty play, imaginative play, and more!
The children can access the Hive area at any time during the day, and the Butterflies have a primary room with materials tailored to their ages and developmental stages.
Even while the Butterflies participate in a lot of organised activities, they are also given the chance to explore the garden freely and choose their own toys and materials, as well as open-ended resources.
In order to support children's specific interests and make activities accessible to everyone, we aim to help them develop their self-confidence at this point, particularly in the lead-up to starting school.
The Hive was established as a space for kids to play, interact with others, and continue their education as part of our aim to serve families in the neighbourhood.
All of the kids have access to our spacious garden, which is a safe area, for both scheduled and unscheduled activities.
The garden is full of playthings for kids to climb and explore, along with a sandbox and a water feature.
The garden enables the kids to grow in their motor and sensory abilities as well as learn more about the world around them by allowing them pursue their natural interests.
Children get the chance to learn about the natural world in the gardening area.
One of the garden's centrepieces is the Story Hut, a covered, cosy outdoor area designed to promote reading among kids.
The crew at Bumblebees, a family-run business, has a combined experience of more than 40 years.
We employ a Key Person system as part of our attempts to give the kids a sense of being at home away from home.
Your child will be assigned a member of staff when they first join us who will be their main caregiver and your main point of contact.
This allows your child to connect with a specific member of staff, which is especially comforting for children when they first join us.
Your child's Key Person will ensure your child is developing well and that all activities are accessible and engaging for them.
They also monitor your child's progress and provide you with updates through Tapestry, an online learning journal.
Tapestry allows you to be part of your child's nursery journey and gives you a record of their progress throughout their time with us.
