Buddies Out of School Club

Activities: Staff provide children with a varied and stimulating environment where they make independent choices in their play.

Skills , Knowledge and Behavior: Staff use their knowledge of children's interests and discussions with children to help them to plan experiences to promote children's skills.

Community Building: Partnership working with the host school is well established. Staff work closely with teachers to share a wealth of information. This helps to ensure some continuity between children's care and learning at school and at club.

Programs and Resources: Staff support children to describe their processes during craft activities and they enjoy sharing their creations with staff.

Staff Training: Effective procedures are in place for the recruitment and induction of staff to ensure they are suitable to work with children.

Safeguarding Training: They have a secure understanding of the procedures to follow should they have concerns about a child's welfare.

Transition to Primary School: Children settle well and staff help them to gain confidence in making decisions and choosing what they want to do.

Child Safety Management: Risk assessments are successfully implemented by staff. For example, they follow well-organised procedures as they collect children from the host school and ensure that children are safe at all times.
