Following an inspection in December 2016, Southampton Nursling Day Nursery and Preschool, which is housed at the David Lloyd Leisure Club in Nursling, received an Outstanding rating from Ofsted.
The nursery features bright, roomy rooms that open out to a lovely garden area.
Southampton Nursling Day Nursery offers a special settling in phase to ensure that kids are content and confident before starting at the Nursery, working together with parents to make sure of it.
Two baby rooms, two toddler rooms, a nursery, and a preschool room make up the Nursery.
Children engage in a range of age-appropriate activities. For instance, newborns' major emphasis while learning about their environment is sensory play. Before the children reach preschool age and the emphasis changes to more organised learning to prepare them for the transition to school, role play becomes more prevalent as they mature into toddlers.
The preschool classroom is where our Ready for School approach is put into practise. Our everyday routines also include increasing improvements, such as Growing Artists and Creative Cooks. Through our Play and Learning at Home activities, we also combine Growing Writers and Growing Mathematicians, working with the Parents to build the children's skills both at home and at the nursery.
Being outside is another recurring topic that enables kids to engage in our Growing Gardeners and Active Athletes programmes and experience all types of weather.
In addition to a reading corner and easy access to bikes and trikes, the garden is packed with games and tools to excite young brains.
