I enjoy that every day is different and that every child is different, and I am really enthusiastic about my job.
Manager of The Hive and Blossom Nursery, Natasha Wain.
Our goal is to foster children's imagination and curiosity in a rustic and nostalgic setting, to improve their learning, and to promote their mental health and feeling of community.
We respect diversity and are committed to including everyone at Blossoms Day Nursery.
Children with special educational needs (SEND) and children for whom English is a second language receive particular help from our nursery inclusion officer.
By collaborating with our families, we are able to help and counsel kids so they may realise their full potential.
Blossoms Day Nursery provides nutritious, balanced, and healthful cuisine that is based on home cooking.
We discuss with the kids the advantages of eating nutritious meals for their bodies.
Our forest school leader, Sharon Walding, has worked with us for a number of years and is a skilled Level 3 practitioner.
Through weekly lessons at our forest school site, Sharon shares her passion for the outdoors with our kids.
Learning outside encourages a meaningful and profound connection to nature, where kids may be uninhibited and at one with their surroundings.
Our philosophy of a healthy body, mind, and world encompasses our method of instruction.
At Blossoms Nursery, we think it is crucial to provide kids the chance to learn about themselves, others, and their surroundings because only then will they realise the impact they can make.
We are happy to provide a setting that accommodates all children and understand the great effects that being outside has on our mental health and overall wellbeing.
All of our kids have daily access to the outdoors through a variety of outdoor places, where they learn about the weather and the natural world and make mud pies, make potions, create dens, and use their creativity to transform boxes into trains, aircraft, castles, and vehicles.
We support risk-taking play, enabling kids to develop into autonomous learners.
We have been bringing youth into our neighbourhood care facility every week since March 2018.
These cross-generational interactions have fostered lasting friendships, encouraged study, and promoted a better knowledge of the world.
Children participate in interactive learning activities during the visits, such as cooking, board games, stories, singing, building, and drawing, but these are only the surface-level lessons and experiences compared to the life skills these kids are learning, like empathy for others, self-confidence, communication in various forms, and interdependence.
Blossoms Day Nursery has significantly decreased its usage of plastic since we are aware of how it affects the environment.
Money that was formerly used to fund a dolphin named Berry is now used to replace plastic craft supplies like glitter and sequins.
The effects of plastic on the ecosystem and marine life are taught to the kids.
