Ants Out of School Club

Programs and Resources: The club does not implement a key-person system. Therefore, children do not have a named key person to provide tailored care that meets their individual needs. Staff have not established successful partnerships with the school that children attend.

Safeguarding Training: The manager fails to ensure that at least one member of staff holds a current and valid paediatric first-aid certificate. Staff's current training has expired, and the manager has not taken action to help staff access training to keep their knowledge up to date. This means that children are not safeguarded.

Child Safety Management: Risk assessment is not effective. Although staff are aware of safety measures identified for the equipment that children use, they do not implement these successfully to reduce the risk to children's safety. Consequently, children are at risk of harm.

Children's Safety and Security: Significant weaknesses in risk assessment and the deployment of staff compromise the safety of children. The manager fails to maintain appropriate records required for the safe and efficient management of the setting. This impacts on the safeguarding of children.
