Our Council adopted it in July 2019 after extensive community participation and consultation with citizens, companies, council members, and local organisations.
The future of Aldershot and Farnborough is outlined in the vision with six primary goals that have been determined to be of the utmost importance by all.
Six major themes emerged as those considered to be the most essential for Rushmoor and for its people, businesses, and partners using data from our 2018 residents' survey, an ambitions workshop with our Cabinet, and a partners' network event.
Residents' opinions were solicited in February and March of 2019.
Our inhabitants made it clear that they want us to concentrate on problems that are important to them, with the improvement of our town centres, permitting chances for top-notch education, and skilled local employment at the top of the list.
The ambitious nature of the vision was well received by the community, and they were eager for us to incorporate other topics as well, such as resident importance of green and environmentally responsible living, community safety, and communication with the community.
With a focus on safer pathways for individuals who want to walk or cycle, residents want our towns to be well-connected.
Since we now have a common understanding of what Aldershot and Farnborough will look like in 2030, we will use it to inform future decisions that will enable us all to decide the future of Rushmoor.
